3. A farmer wishes to apply 60 kg of nitrogen per hectare using urea, which contains 46% nitrogen.

(b) Describe two methods of applying fertiliser to a growing crop. [8 marks]
(c) State two precautions when handling fertiliser. [4 marks]
4. (a) Distinguish between sexual and asexual propagation in crops. [4 marks]
(b) Describe how you would carry out budding on a citrus seedling. [10 marks]
(c) State two advantages of asexual propagation. [6 marks]
5. Specimens D, E and F are a cutlass, a hoe and a watering can.
(a) State one use of each specimen. [6 marks]
(b) State two ways of maintaining each specimen. [9 marks]
(c) State one safety precaution when using D. [5 marks]
6. Specimen H is a fowl.
(a) Name four external parts of H and state the function of each. [12 marks]
(b) State two observable features that distinguish a cock from a hen. [6 marks]
(c) State one sign that H is healthy. [2 marks]
